Main research interests
Obscured AGNs, AGN host
galaxies, black holes-galaxy co-evolution, Warm-Hot Intergalactic
Medium, obscured supernovae, metallicity evolution of galaxies and AGNs, dust
evolution, early galaxies and QSOs at the re-ionization epoch.
Some of the current projects
- JWST. I am part of the Instrument Science Team of NIRSpec, the near-IR spectrometer for the James Webb Space Telescope.
- AMAZE.
I am the Principal Investigator of the ESO Large Programme AMAZE, aimed
at investigating the evolution mass-metallicity relation at high
redshift.
- WHIM. I am part on an international collaboration aimed at
detecting the Warm-Hot Intergalactic Medium in emission and in
absorption toward Large Scale Structures.
- PACS. I am Co-Investigator of the PACS extragalactic survey program (PEP), within the PACS GTO program of the Herschel Space Observatory.
- GIANO. I am Instrument Scientist of the high resolution near-IR spectrometer GIANO for the TNG telescope.
- E-ELT. I am Instrument Scientist of the high resolution near-IR spectrometer SIMPLE for the European Extremely Large Telescope.
- ELIXIR. I
am the coordinator of the Italian node of the FP7 European Network
ELIXIR, aimed at training stundents and young researchers to the future
use of JWST. NOTE: seven PhD fellowships (3-years) are currently open.
